the storm has come and gone
deep dark clouds rolling in on the heels of distant thunder
lightening the only bright in the sky
wait for it
hard steady rain desperate to meet the ground
leaving everything and everyone caught in it
drenched and drooping
but the night sky afterward
patches of cloud in the sky
seemingly avoiding the moon as they pass her by
but the thin clouds they linger
close enough to glisten
just far away enough to refract her light just right
moon not quite full but ample
if you watch long enough youll see one
strung up in the sky
wont believe it until you witness for yourself
a rainbow in the night
